UNDER STAIRS WINE CELLAR
This project reimagines an underutilized under-stairs closet as a sophisticated, climate-controlled wine cellar with a 500+ bottle capacity. The design maximizes the compact space while maintaining architectural harmony with the historic home.
Key design elements include custom mahogany millwork, stained to match the adjacent bar; a rich gray marble countertop for decanting and serving; integrated lighting and custom feature wall; and seamlessly integrated supply and return air ducts to maintain precise temperature and humidity control.
By embracing the spatial constraints, we transformed a previously unused area into a functional and elegant wine storage solution. The carefully selected materials—warm mahogany and cool marble—create a visually striking environment that balances aesthetic appeal with practical storage needs.
The result is a bespoke wine cellar that not only preserves and showcases a significant wine collection but also adds architectural interest and value to the home.
